Ford Mustang “Man Racer”

A very popular concept Ford Mustang from a few years back was the Ford Mustang FR500C. The FR500 was a concept circuit race car in 1999 with a healthy 420 bhp and an equally healthy pricetag of $125K. The FR500 Mustang was dubbed the “Boy Racer” by Ford executives, as it was created as a race-ready concept Mustang.
Add 130bhp onto the FR500 and you have the “Man Racer.” The Ford Mustang Man Racer is a 550bhp race-ready circuit car that may be racing the tracks in the Champ Car Circuit powered exclusively by Ford.
Debuting on track during pace car laps at the Long Beach Grand Prix, Scott Maxwell drove the Man Racer at a quick 10 seconds off of the Grand-Am Daytona Protoypes on an untuned stock version of the car! Will we ever see these license-ready race cars on a road in the future?
